Alternative course offers
Your offer may be for a different course to that you originally applied for.
There are a number of reasons why we make you an alternative course offer. You may have asked us to make the change, or you might have used an incorrect course code on your application.
We may have made you an alternative course offer because we are unable to offer you a place on your first choice course but we believe that your application demonstrates your potential to succeed at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ.
Please give our offer of a place on an alternative course serious consideration.
How we make alternative offers
We assess each applicant individually, for some courses this includes assessment of a creative portfolio. If we make you an alternative offer, we will select a course that we believe will be relevant and of interest to you. This decision is based on several factors which can include:
- personal statement
- your portfolio if you have shared one with us
- the subjects you have studied
- the qualifications you have achieved, and
- your work experience.
You can find out more about the course you have been given as an alternative offer on the course finder on our website, by attending an applicant day on campus (we'll send you an invite) and by speaking to the course team.
Help and support with your alternative offer
Receiving an alternative offer can come as a surprise and initially you may feel confused or disappointed. If you are made an alternative course offer we would be happy to arrange a call to discuss your options and answer any questions you have about your new course offer.
We always try to make alternative offer courses that you will enjoy, though we understand that we may not always get this right first time. If you feel the alternative course we have chosen is not a good match for you get in touch with the course enquiries team with your full name, student number and the course you would like to be considered for.
PLEASE NOTE if you have been made an alternative course offer you cannot be re-considered for the course you originally applied for this year, and you would need to apply for the course again next year.
